Physics Society at York University invites all the members and anyone interested in becoming a member to join us for a talk delivered by our own Dr Sean Tulin. Dr Tulin is a new faculty member in the Physics and Astronomy Department. His main area of research is Dark Matter. "The search for dark matter: In the Universe, about 15% of the matter is made of atoms, while about 85% is dark matter. The gravitational collapse of dark matter into a network of halos and filaments provides the cosmic foundation for all structure in the Universe to form. However, we have no idea what dark matter particles actually are, nor what their mass is, nor what interactions they may have. I will discuss what is the evidence for dark matter and I will describe my own research into how astronomy and particle physics can come together to solve this cosmic mystery." --Dr Sean Tulin To hear more about this, to meet other people, and of course to eat good food for free, please join us on Wednesday September 24th at 5.30 in PSE 317!
